This list is all about the quantity and the number of trades and less about the values associated with them. The list is headed by Congressman Ro Khanna (D - California), According to CapitolTrades’ data, Mr. Khanna made 13,205 trades in the past 3 years, involving 1,246 issuers. Congressman Khanna also sits on the Armed Services Committee, among others. Hence, his trades tend to attract more attention.

Republican Michael McCaul, representing Texas, is the second-most active trader in the House with 6,574 trades involving 594 issuers. Congressman McCaul is a member of the committees on Foreign Affairs and Homeland Security. He chaired the latter on three different occasions.

McCaul’s Republican colleague Diana Harshbarger is the third most active House trader with 3,322 trades involving 248 issuers. Representing Tennessee, Congresswoman Harshbarger sits on committees that oversee Education and Labor, as well as Homeland Security.

Another Republican from Tennessee, former Congressman Phil Roe, has made it into the top 5 of the most active stock market traders in Congress. Mr. Roe made just over 2,000 trades involving 420 issuers in the period from 2019 to 2021. He announced in 2020 that he doesn’t plan to run for the seventh term.

This list of the most active traders among House members is completed by Democrat from New Jersey, Josh Gottheimer. The Congressman, who sits on the committees for Financial Services and Homeland Security, made 1,258 trades involving 317 issuers.
