Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the U.S. representative from Florida's 23rd congressional district, invested in Lions Gate Entertainment (LGF/B: US) in September, as seen in the latest filings.

The Congresswoman bought shares of Lions Gate Entertainment on September 14 via two transactions when the closing price was $9.51. Both trades were made in the name of her children while the selected value sizes were between $1,000 to $15,000.

These are the only two stock market trades that Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz made in September. In August, she reported several transactions, including the sale of energy-focused XLE ETF, and shares of Hill International (HIL: US), the Philadelphia-based construction consulting firm.

Congressman Wasserman Schultz hasn’t made a single stock market trade that exceeds $15,000 in recent years. She typically trades shares in IT sector companies, as well as Energy and Industrials. As far as individual stocks are concerned, Patterson-UTI Energy Inc (PTEN: US) is the most traded single stock by the Representative, followed by Westell Technologies Inc (WSTL: US), and Hil International

Wasserman Schultz is an influential member of Congress. She was first elected in 2004 while she also acted as a chair of the Democratic National Committee from 2011 to 2016. She resigned in July 2016 after WikiLeaks emails showed she pushed for the election of Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders in the 2016 Democratic primaries.

Congressman Wasserman Schultz is a member of Appropriations, as well as the Oversight and Reform committees.
